For nine long months, I've been failing.

She was only supposed to be the nanny, but she's so much more.

The day my wife left should have been the worst day of my life, but it wasn't. It was when Hannah walked away, taking my heart with her.

Synopsis:

Lena Wise is always looking forward to tomorrow, especially at the start of her senior year. She's ready to pack in as much friend time as possible, to finish college applications and to maybe let her childhood best friend Sebastian know how she really feels about him. For Lena, the upcoming year is going to be epic—one of opportunities and chances.

Until one choice, one moment, destroys everything.

Now Lena isn't looking forward to tomorrow. Not when friend time may never be the same. Not when college applications feel all but impossible. Not when Sebastian might never forgive her for what happened.

For what she let happen.

With the guilt growing each day, Lena knows that her only hope is to move on. But how can she move on when her and her friends' entire existences have been redefined? How can she move on when tomorrow isn't even guaranteed?

“I knew I couldn’t go back and start a new beginning. I couldn’t rewrite the middle. All I could do was change tomorrow, as long as I had one.”

I went into this book blind. I didn't really read the synopsis and I didn't read any reviews of it. This book totally sideswiped me. I've read one other book by Jennifer and I honestly wasn't expecting too much from this book. Oh boy. This book is worth a read. Maybe even two. This book is beyond powerful in so many ways.

“I didn’t know how I was supposed to feel, how I was supposed to move on from this point, but I knew I didn’t deserve something good like this.”

This book floored me. I almost put it down because I was in a reading slum due to the last book I read. And I honestly couldn't stand Sebastian at the beginning of the book and that alone was almost enough reason for me to put this thing down.

If There's No Tomorrow follows a girl named Lena. She's just a normal senior in high school who does all the normal teenage things. Homework, sports, working a job, and partying. Until one night, she makes a terrible decision that leaves four of her friends dead.

She has to learn how to move on and live with the decision she made. She has to learn how to live with the guilt, She needs to move on. But she doesn't think that she can. Doesn't think that she deserves to.

“What does waiting do? None of us are promised a tomorrow ... We don’t always get a later.”

This book is loaded with emotions. My heart aches for Lena and her friends. I was in tears throughout the majority of this book.

The relationship between Lena and Sebastian is amazing. Special. Even when Lena pushes him away with hateful words, he stays loyal to her. All he wants is what's best for her and I'm glad he was a big part in this book.

I recommend that everyone read this book. Especially the younger audience. I really feel like this book could save the lives of people. Please, read this book. Let it sink into you the way it did to me. This book will stay with me forever.

Review: The Billionaires by Calista Fox

Beautiful Bastard

Synopsis:

100 Shades of Sin...

In The Billionaires, Calista Fox delivers a sexy and sensuous friends-to-lovers tale with a delicious love triangle twist.

Jewel Catalano, Rogen Angelini, and Vin D'Angelo had been childhood best friends, spending every possible moment with one another. Rogen became her first love, the first one to show her what pleasure could be. Until a volatile feud erupted between their powerful California wine country families and she and Rogen were torn apart from each other. What she didn't expect was to find comfort and passion like she had never known in Vin's arms and bed. But when that too ended in disaster, Jewel moved to San Francisco to work for the Catalano empire. Years later, a series of daring acquisitions brings Jewel back to River Cross, the hometown where Rogen and Vin have recently returned as well. Jewel has the curves, the smarts, and the success to bring any man to his knees—especially the two men who remained best friends and still burn to possess her.

Mixing family business with erotic pleasure ignites a smoldering love triangle. But in order to pull off the bold deal that will build the trios’ own legacy and to stay in their heady, sensual paradise, they must discover what true love really is—or lose everything their hearts' desire, in The Billionaires by Calista Fox.
The Billionaires follows Jewel Castalano. She's a wealthy entrepreneur who has loved two men in her entire life. Rogen Angelini and Vin D'Angelo. Two men who left her heartbroken at a young age. Two men who are her family's rivals.

The Castalanos and the Angelinis have had a feud that's lasted almost a decade. With that feud comes land that both families own and refuse to sell to one another. Well, Jewel wants that land and she's gonna work hard to get it.

She strikes a deal with Gian Angelini, Rogens father, to acquire the land. But being back at their estate thrusts her back into her romantic fling with Rogen. Which in turn, gets her back with Vin also.

This book is all about the romance between the three and how they want to get their families to quit their feud so they can work together again and be romantic out in public.

I was really excited to pick this book up. It had a slow start and I had a hard time getting into the story line. It finally started picking up a couple of chapters in. I thought this book was going to have more drama. Even the family drama is kind of boring.

I didn't like Jewel too much. I couldn't tell you why though, I just didn't like her. I sorta liked Rogen and Vin. Although, we don't get too much on them.

I do have the second book to this series and I'm not entirely sure when I'll pick it up because if it's anything like this one, I'm not going to thoroughly enjoy it.

Beautiful Bastard

Synopsis:

Juliet Young always writes letters to her mother, a world-traveling photojournalist. Even after her mother's death, she leaves letters at her grave. It's the only way Juliet can cope.

Declan Murphy isn't the sort of guy you want to cross. In the midst of his court-ordered community service at the local cemetery, he's trying to escape the demons of his past.

When Declan reads a haunting letter left beside a grave, he can't resist writing back. Soon, he's opening up to a perfect stranger, and their connection is immediate. But neither Declan nor Juliet knows that they're not actually strangers. When life at school interferes with their secret life of letters, sparks will fly as Juliet and Declan discover truths that might tear them apart.
This is a charming story. I like the element of writing to someone that you don't know and being able to just be completely honest with them.

This book follows two characters. Juliet and Declan.

Juliet was a good girl who was following her mother's steps into photography. That is, until her mother dies in a car accident that killed her.

Declan was a boy with an abnormal childhood who does something that gives him a record. With a record, everyone just sees him as a bad boy who is going to end up just like his father.

The two meet by a letter Juliet wrote to her mother and left it on her grave. Declan finds it while cleaning up the graveyard for his community service. It all begins when he responds to the letter.

This book had a lot of emotions in it. I wouldn't call this book a romance novel. I feel like the relationship between Juliet and Declan in this book isn't romantic at all.  Well, it isn't until the last page.

This book felt real. All the events that took place in this book definitely feel like they could really happen. The characters were extremely likable. There wasn't one that I didn't like. I even liked the mean step dad.

I can't wait to read more by Brigid!

Synopsis:

The second the whip was placed in my hand, I snapped.

I couldn't turn away.

I needed this.

The man I fought for so long has returned, more feral than before.

Will Rome still love me?

Or will she leave?
This book was the best book in the series. Literally. I could not put it down for the life of me. I finished it within 24 hours. It's freaking amazing!

So many things happen in this book and I don't want to spoil them. Just be prepared to fall off your seat with all the drama and action.

I cannot get over this series. It's bumped up to my favorites list. I read this series within a week of time and I kind of wish I didn't read them so fast because I'm sad it's over now.

I mean, unless Victoria Quinn is going to bless us with more Rome and Calloway in the future!!

I'm not going to go into detail about this book because so much happens and I don't want to spoil it for anymore. It's literally the best book in this series. Just read it and love it.

Synopsis:

I gave up everything for Rome.

The one woman I couldn't live without.

But could I keep my promise and turn my back on everything?

Could I really forsake being a Dom?

Or will I pull her into the darkness with me anyway?
Like I said in my last review for this series, I'm flying through these books! I just cannot get enough of Rome and Calloway. I'm a bit obsessed.

This book finally really touched on the BDSM subject more than the previous books did. It wasn't a strong element but it was definitely present.

I was also correct with the drama and action. They have been picking up as the books go on so I'm thrilled to see what the last book will throw at me.

This book made me a little bit angry. The ending is not how I wanted it to go and I'm very disappointed in Calloway. I do not condone cheating in any sort of way and for Calloway to think what he is doing is okay makes me dislike him a little bit.

All-in-all, this was a great book and I can't wait to see what happens when Rome finds out what Calloway is doing behind her back.

I hope she beats his ass.

Synopsis:

I know I'm never going to change.

I was born in the darkness, and that's exactly where I'll remain.

Rome is sweet, gentle, and vanilla.

But I'll change all of that.

I'll show her who I really am.

And slip that black diamond onto her finger.
I finished this book is hardly any time at all. I'm finding that this series is going to be pretty easy to get through.

Again, this book isn't heavy with the BDSM element. I'm not minding it though. I feel like once it's completely introduced it's going to change everything.

This book contains some drama. There are lies. Secrets.

The characters haven't changed since the first book. Rome is still a headstrong woman that doesn't like to get bossed around. Calloway still wants to dominate Rome and make her his sub. She still doesn't even know about the dominate side of him until the beans are spilled by Christopher (her brother).

I'm really enjoying this series and I'm wishing the books were a little bit longer but I'm not going to complain because they're loaded with so many wonderful qualities.

This book was sexy, dramatic and a bit enticing at times. There's a little bit more action in this book than the first. Which tells me there's going to be a big climax coming in the future!

Definitely picking up the next one ASAP!

Beautiful Bastard

Synopsis:

I was standing at the bar and waiting for a friend when it happened.

When my life changed forever.

She strutted inside with her head held high with grace, not pretentiousness. With legs that reached her neck, and an hourglass frame perfect for gripping, she got me hard instantly.

And those green eyes got the rest of my body hard too.

Mistaking me for the man who cheated on her friend, she walked up to me, those green eyes burning with fire, and she slapped me so hard my skin bubbled.

And damn, it felt good.

She slapped me two more times, using her petite size to gain momentum as her palm crushed into my skin.

I never wanted it to end.

I'd never met a woman who made pain feel so good. I'd never met a woman as strong as myself. I'd never met a woman I wanted to dominate more.

I'd never met a woman like her.

Rome Moretti.

My next submissive.

Beautiful Bastard

Synopsis:

Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, forty-three weeks, and two days. Or so she thinks.

The boy she maybe-sort-of-definitely loved and sort-of-maybe-definitely hated has dropped off the face of the planet in the face of tragedy, leaving a Jack Hunter–shaped hole. Determined to be happy, Isis fills it in with lies and puts on a brave smile for her new life at Ohio State University.

But the smile lasts only until he shows up. The menace from her past—her darkest secret, Nameless—is attending OSU right alongside her. And he’s whispering that he has something Isis wants—something she needs to see to move forward. To move on.

Isis has always been able to pretend everything is okay. But not anymore.

Isis Blake might be good at putting herself back together.

But Jack Hunter is better.

This trilogy was highly disappointing. I thought it was going to get better because I sort of liked the second book. Nope. I was wrong.

If anything, it got worse. The stupid humor in this book was not funny. The characters are not likeable. And I couldn't stand the main characters at all.

I'm terribly mad that this series wasn't good. I've been hyping it up in my head for the longest time. And now, I'm just really disappointed and in a possible reading slump because of these books.

Nothing in this book really made sense. The scenes were all jumpy and it was hard to keep up with what was actually going on.
