Can one voice really have that much of an impact?

Cole Reynolds is on his way out. In his final year at UChicago, the only thing he wants to do is finish school and get on with his life. But the sweet voice that interrupts his morning shower turns his world upside down. Compelled to find his shower songbird, he begins a search across campus. The only thing to distract him from this goal is his roommate's gorgeous girlfriend who's just arrived from LA - Ella Simmons.

Relationships are put to the ultimate test as future dreams are questioned and friendships are thrown on the line for love.

May Wrap-Up:

I started my second job this month. That means I'm working six days a week now. I didn't expect to get any reading done. I really thought I was only going to get through like one or two just like last month. Well, I surprised myself! I managed to finish four!!! I also DNFed two other books that aren't included in this wrap-up.

What all did you guys read this month?!?!

May Book Haul:

I know I said I wouldn't do anymore hauls. I can't not do that. Everyone loves hauls. I'm just not going to take individual pictures for the books anymore. Just the one picture of all the books together. That should make this process a little bit easier on me.

Everything got so busy for a little bit. I was driving a lot and I literally had zero time to do anything. I'm slowly but surely getting back into the groove of things!

Here's my haul, I hope you enjoy it :)

SYNOPSIS:
Some people live their entire lives without changing their perspective. For Allison Dennis, all it takes is 180 seconds…

After a life spent bouncing from one foster home to the next, Allison is determined to keep others at arm’s length. Adopted at sixteen, she knows better than to believe in the permanence of anything. But as she begins her third year in college, she finds it increasingly difficult to disappear into the white noise pouring from her earbuds.

One unsuspecting afternoon, Allison is roped into a social experiment just off campus. Suddenly, she finds herself in front of a crowd, forced to interact with a complete stranger for 180 seconds. Neither she, nor Esben Baylor, the dreamy social media star seated opposite her, is prepared for the outcome.

When time is called, the intensity of the experience overwhelms Allison and Esben in a way that unnerves and electrifies them both. With a push from her oldest friend, Allison embarks on a journey to find out if what she and Esben shared is the real thing—and if she can finally trust in herself, in others, and in love.

Updates!!!

Alright guys! I have some new updates coming along. I have a full-time and part-time job now. Meaning, I'll have less time to read. Which also means less time for my blog.

I will still be doing reviews for every book I read. I probably won't accept anymore review requests unless it's from a book I really want to read.

I won't post monthly book hauls anymore. I will still post all of the books I own on my bookshelf page. You can find that HERE.

I may or may not post my monthly wrap ups anymore. Like I said, I may not have the time. But you can always see what I am reading on the right side of my blog with the Goodreads application.

ALSO, sadly, no more giveaways. I currently do not have the funds to continue doing them. I may bring them back in the future.

I really hope that everyone still sticks around even with these changes.

Beautiful Bastard

SYNOPSIS:

To everyone who knows him, West Ashby has always been that guy: the cocky, popular, way-too-handsome-for-his-own-good football god who led Lawton High to the state championships. But while West may be Big Man on Campus on the outside, on the inside he’s battling the grief that comes with watching his father slowly die of cancer.

Two years ago, Maggie Carleton’s life fell apart when her father murdered her mother. And after she told the police what happened, she stopped speaking and hasn’t spoken since. Even the move to Lawton, Alabama, couldn’t draw Maggie back out. So she stayed quiet, keeping her sorrow and her fractured heart hidden away.

As West’s pain becomes too much to handle, he knows he needs to talk to someone about his father—so in the dark shadows of a post-game party, he opens up to the one girl who he knows won’t tell anyone else.

West expected that talking about his dad would bring some relief, or at least a flood of emotions he couldn’t control. But he never expected the quiet new girl to reply, to reveal a pain even deeper than his own—or for them to form a connection so strong that he couldn’t ever let her go…

Beautiful Bastard

Synopsis:

TWO YEARS
Since my life changed for the second time and not necessarily for the better. Two years since I traded prison bars for streets and hunted a runaway who I'd met in an alley.

TWO DAYS
Since I forgot how to lie, woke to fists, and chased after the girl who'd been stolen from me.

TWO HOURS
To save her, rescue her, keep my lies intact. She looks at me full of hate. I look at her full of confession.

TWO MINUTES
For our relationship to switch from mutual dislike to floundering with unknowns. I've hurt her. Now, she's hurt me. I guess we're even.

TWO SECONDS
For her to listen, to see, to finally know who I am. The answer comes with hardship. The answer isn't what she wants to hear.

TWO BREATHS
For me to walk out the door.

TWO HEARTBEATS
For it all to be over.

Synopsis:

“I met the man I wanted. But then he vanished, and a new man claimed me instead. My father approved, my colleagues congratulated, and behind closed doors, I was bedded by a stranger.”

However, two meetings with two men changes her happy existence forever. First, she meets the man who makes her heart sing. Three years later, she meets the man who makes her blood quiver.

Broken-hearted from a teenage romance, Noelle’s freedom is no longer hers. It belongs to the stranger her father believes is her perfect match. The stranger who pulls his lies over everyone he touches.

To everyone…including herself.

Beautiful Bastard
SYNOPSIS:

Think positive.
Don’t worry; be happy.
Keep calm and carry on.

Maeve has heard it all before. She’s been struggling with severe anxiety for a long time, and as much as she wishes it was something she could just talk herself out of, it’s not. She constantly imagines the worst, composes obituaries in her head, and is always ready for things to fall apart. To add to her troubles, her mom—the only one who really gets what Maeve goes through—is leaving for six months, so Maeve will be sent to live with her dad in Vancouver.

Vancouver brings a slew of new worries, but Maeve finds brief moments of calm (as well as even more worries) with Salix, a local girl who doesn’t seem to worry about anything. Between her dad’s wavering sobriety, her very pregnant stepmom insisting on a home birth, and her bumbling courtship with Salix, this summer brings more catastrophes than even Maeve could have foreseen. Will she be able to navigate through all the chaos to be there for the people she loves?

April Book Haul:

As you are probably aware, I've been addicting to buying bargain books! I feel like I'm getting more for my money now. Although, I do prefer my books in 100% perfect condition, I think I can deal with a little dings to save a bit of cash.

I highly recommend to look in your local library for books! I go there as much as I can and I always leave with a couple of books.

Also, check out Goodwill or a local used book store. There's always such great deals everywhere. It's okay to not by everything brand new :)

I'm also thinking I'm going to chill out with buying a bunch of books. My TBR list is extremely long. I just need more time to read ;)

But without further ado, I'm going to jump in to this haul. I hope you guys enjoy. And remember, if you have read any of these books and have liked them, let me know in the comments!!!

April Wrap Up:

This month has been super busy! I know I say that a lot. As of right now, we have so much going on. Hopefully, everything will slow down and I can get some reading done soon!!

Also, I haven't been feeling quite myself lately. I cannot, for the life of me, get interested in a book. I'm trying so hard to get everything together!!!

Book Blitz: Shopping For A Ceo's Wife by Julia Kent + Giveaway

Shopping for a CEO’s Wife
Julia Kent
(Shopping for a Billionaire, #12)
Publication date: April 25th 2017
Genres: Adult, Romance
Snowbound. Sounds so romantic, with visions of cuddling before a roaring fire, hot chocolate spiked with brandy, and a secret elopement.
Wait. What?
My fiancĂ©’s father won’t stop trying to turn our pending wedding into a three-ring media circus so he can get free publicity for his family’s Fortune 500 company. My mother has decided she’s done with All Things Wedding and asks her teacup Chihuahua for mother-of-the-bride advice.
They’ve all gone certifiably mad.
Then the stress from the wedding puts my mother in the hospital, I scream at my future father-in-law in front of a camera crew and the video goes viral, and the romantic wedding that started with Andrew’s grand Pride and Prejudice proposal looks less like Jane Austen and more like Dostoyevsky.
So what do you do when you’re a fixer and you can’t fix something?
You give up on it.
Not on Andrew, silly.
The wedding.
Shopping for a CEO’s Wife is the 12th book in Julia Kent’s New York Times bestselling Shopping series. As Shannon and Declan enjoy their newlywed bliss, Andrew’s father wants to exploit Amanda and Andrew’s nuptials, much to Amanda’s chagrin. Can she learn to stand up to her future father-in-law and fight for what’s right? But the real question is: will Spritzy the teacup Chihuahua end up being a flower girl?
